Fun Schleich Facts Cows are very painful and sensitive pets. Calves are protected by their mothers, who will be immediately there for them if they are scared or if perhaps they cry out in hunger. The mothers lick them to calm them down. After birth, the calves are lovingly licked dry by their mothers inside their stall. After just a couple of days, they are able to get in on the other cows out on the pasture to frolic around and bring. 2-3 weeks later, they start eating grass and hay. However, they still can’t consume the new green fodder aswell as person cows. That’s why calves hold drinking their mother’s milk for six to twelve months. They truly are fully grown because of the age of around five, and can reside to an age of between 20 and 25.Calves already weigh between 25 and 45 kg at birth.
