You’re Invited: Brisbabes 1st Birthday!
Brisbabes #5 is here but this time they are celebrating their very first anniversary. Yes, that’s right we get to gather up our finest party hats, streamers and poppers, and commemorate our one year love affair with our favourite showcase of Brisbane’s most talented, most baben’, female-fronted acts. Once again, the line up is stellar and on the 1st of October, The Foundry’s stage will be filled with four lady acts that will ensure the crowd is left knowing girl-power is definitely a thing and, oh boy, does it make you want to dance.
Founder of Brisbabes, Emma Jones, says, “I’m so amazed at the constantly growing female-fronted music scene, and am excited to say I can already see changes in the scene since I first started this!” Teaming up with Control Zine, further cements this events standing as number one in supporting and nurturing Brissy’s ladies in music.
Quintessential Doll will kick off the night with her peculiar but ethereal tunes, followed by elegant, midnight-electro-pop newcomers, Stevie. All girl, punk trio and pioneers of the fresh bread hate movement, Whalehouse, will then slam their fresh-out-of-the-garage, thrashing guitar riffs and provide the coolest lady screaming 2016 has seen. Blaq Carrie will close out the night with her soulful rap and clean, hooky productions, making sure punters and lovers of all things music will leave more than satisfied.
Now you’ve got the low-down on the line-up, save the date and prepare for the good times and a first birthday to remember. Grab your tickets now for $10 here or rock up on the night and grab them at the door for $15. The night kicks off at 8pm so make sure you get in there early!
