Brisbane’s Must Sees 7th-14th June

This week is set to be a big one! There is so much happening in June that you may find it hard to plan your weekend. Don’t fear, we have compiled the best in local music, and with a little bit of everything, you are sure to find the event that is the one for you.

Second Affair w/ Banter Club & Wearn @ the Zoo, 9th June

A night of goodbyes and new beginnings, this event is a farewell to Joc Curran (Zoo owner) and a welcome to new owner Pixie Weyand. To celebrate the changing of owners, the Zoo are putting on a killer show. Acts include; Second Affair, Banter Club and Wearn. AstheniA @ The Foundry, 10th June

New Farm Records and Grain have come together to bring us an incredible Friday night. Packed with music and theatre, this event is something a little different and is sure to get you pumped up for the weekend. The line-up includes; Emerson Snowe, Pool Shop, Sweater Curse, FeelsClub, In Real Life, Post-Dusk, Moodie Gloom, Goodbye Moon, The Seefelds, Love Letters to Fuckbois & Other Woes of Wayward Women and The Miscreants. Nothing to Say (Single Launch) @ The Zoo, 10th June

If the previous event doesn’t tickle your pickle, then you can always head down to the Zoo for some electronic psych-pop music as SIMON SIMON drop their latest banger. Club Barbara @ Barbara, 10th June

This one is for the real party goers who want to start their weekend with a big night out. This event is the first instalment of Club Barbara, a night centred solely on celebrating some of the best house DJ’s in Brisbane. THE STROKES Appreciation Night @ Bistrotheque, 10th June

As you can probably tell, Friday is THE NIGHT to be in the Valley this week. If we hadn’t already made your Friday night decision hard enough, here is another awesome event. This free event will be the host this tribute, which is a must-do for Splendour goers who are set to see the real thing in only a few weeks. The Halls ‘Lemonade’ (Single Launch) @ New Globe Theatre, 11th June

Grungy and conscientious, Halls are set to release their single Lemonade at the New Globe Theatre, and this is not one to miss. Lemonade is a song which comments on the environment, and consumerism, which might give a little more depth to your Saturday night. Saint Henry @ Trainspotters, 11th June

Saint Henry are on their Australian Tour! The Melbourne-based post-grunge punk rock are still fresh on the scene but their music still manages to pack a serious punch.
