Fences by Isabel

Brisbane songstress Isabel is a neo-soul beauty with some of the smoothest production around. Originally starting out as a folk singer, Isabel has performed a string of local gigs since 2012, but is only now exploring more textured and RnB-flavoured sounds. She has featured regularly in Brisbane’s City Sounds circuit, as well as popping up on Triple J Unearthed and Soundcloud.

Fences is, in a word, effortless. Featuring stripped down, minimalist RnB synth backing and a grounding beat, Isabel’s honeyed vocals ebb and flow to a slow build of bass and guitar detailing. Tackling higher sweeping vocals in the chorus with sensual ease, Fences flows back and forth with some seriously chilled out production and never once oversteps its minimalist mark.

Sounds like:

The Internet meets JOY and Corinne Bailey Rae.

Watch out for:

Isabel‘s debut EP is due to be released in the coming months. Tour dates for 2016 are currently in the making and we’ll have all the details for you as soon as they’re out.
