Brisbane’s Must Sees – DECEMBER

The first of December marks the first day of the most festive month of the year, and what better way to celebrate the holidays than with some quality live music? We have collated the best that December has to offer and put them together in a handy list to give you something to do with family and friends all month.

Brisbane Folk Club Launch @ The Foundry, 2nd December 

Kicking off December is a new monthly event. The Brisbane Folk Club aims to provide locals with both a place to show their talents and hear great new music. Farrier Unplugged: December Showcase @ Farrier Bar, 3rd December

Local music is something we cherish here and so Farrier Unplugged is making a comeback in the December must see list. This month you can expect to see Lou Parker, Kate Heart, Garret Lyon and SASKIA. 4ZZZ 40th Birthday Night Market @ The Old Museum Building, 4th December

Celebrate the 40th Birthday of 4ZZZ with a night of great live music. Free markets will be accompanying music old and new. The line-up for the night includes; Gentle Ben & His Sensitive Side, Monster Zoku Onsomb, Blank Realm, Velociraptor, Xero  and The Leftovers. Rise of the Riff @ Crowbar, 5th December

Looking for a rad way to spend your Saturday? Rise of the Riff 2015 is due to be the grooviest way to spend a hot summers day. The lineup on the day includes; Grim Rythm, Motherslug, Suffusion, Hobo Magic, Lizzard Wizzard, Smoke and more.  Good music is not the only thing this event has to offer. The Belligerents @ The Foundry, 5th December

The Belligerents are heading to Brisbane on their Outside: Inside EP tour. The band is an indie/psychedelic group who have really made a name for themselves with the success of their two most recent singles. We are expecting big things for this band with their experimental style bringing them into the spotlight. Hazards of Swimming Naked @ Beetle Bar, 5th December

Sometimes it feels as though rock is slowly fading from the Brisbane music scene, so events like this make us very happy. The post-rock band Hazards of Swimming will be joined by instrumental group Majora with guests Kodiak Empire, The Halls and Balloons Kill Babies. Need more details? Check out the event here. Music Industry Hookups: Management @ Foundry Records, 7th December

Calling all managers in the music industry! If you manage a band, are self-managed as an artist or looking for a manager then this event is especially for you. The night will includes talks from established managers and a Q&A to answer any questions you may have. This event will be happening every month so check out the event page here for more details.

The Misfits @ The Triffid, 9th December 

Not ready to give up Halloween? Well The Misfits are coming to town and should need no introduction. The horror punk-rock band is coming to Brisbane on their Australian tour and this performance is not one to miss. The group will be playing the classics from their albums Static Age and Earth A.D. The Zoo’s 23rd Birthday Party with Spit Syndicate @ The Zoo, 12th December

New Years Eve ‘Common People’ Reunion @ The Foundry, 31st December

If you want to dance your way into the New Year then The Foundry has the perfect event for you. The Common People Reunion is the perfect New Years club night with music from the trash, hip-hop, indie and pop genres. The Big Chill Fest @ The Motor Room, 31st December

Looking for something chilled out to kick off 2016? The Big Chill Fest is going to be jam packed with live art, food stalls, and live music across three stages. Wait till you hear the line-up.
