Brisbane’s Must Sees – NOVEMBER

With Halloween now over, festival season is quickly bearing down. No longer will you go a week without incredible live music. But how will you sort through the myriad of acts?  Have no fear, we are here to help, telling you exactly which acts you don’t want to miss out on.

Now, there are so many big names coming to Brisbane in November that we decided to focus on some of the acts that aren’t plastered on every wall in Brisbane. It is for this reason that we have left names like Chet Faker, Tame Impala and Matt Corby off our list this month.

The Murlocs @ The Brightside, November 5th

If you haven’t heard of The Murlocs yet then this is probably the perfect time to see them. They will be celebrating the release of their new single Rolling On, supported by ORB, SACRED SHRINES and BASKERVILLAIN. Price: $24

Farrier Unplugged @ Farrier Bar, Every Thursday Night 

Forget what you usually do on a Thursday night, Farrier Bar is the new place to be. Not only is this a FREE live music event but it happens every Thursday! These events are jam packed with local talent and the perfect way to spend a Thursday. Price: FREE

Loon Lake Final Tour @ The Brightside, November 6th

If you didn’t already know, Loon Lake is no more and the band is breaking up with a final tour. If you are already a fan then you will certainly not want to miss this, and even for those who aren’t already acquainted with their music, shows on a final tour are nearly always amazing.  Price: $24

Erin Fitzsimon Quartet @ QPAC – Green Jam, November 6th

If you’re in need of some smooth and soothing jazz, then this event is perfect for you. The Erin Fitzimon Quartet will be playing on the 6th at Green Jam. If you can’t attend this event (for some crazy reason) then don’t stress – there is live music on at Green Jam every Friday night. Price:  FREE

Malo Zima ‘Cornerstone’ (EP Launch) @ Black Bear Lodge, November 6th

Looking for something a little different? Malo Zima are launching their long awaited EP at the Black Bear Lodge and a range of creative and interesting sounds are expected. Price: $12

The Triffid 1st Birthday @ The Triffid, November 6th-21st

This is not only an event, but a celebration! The Triffid has certainly made a name for itself in the past year and has been host to a plethora of live music. To mark this event The Triffid are having a two week party, full of live music and comedy. Featuring The Vaccines and Future Island, there will be something that tickles your fancy no matter what you’re into. Price:  Prices vary, see event for details.

Youth Allowance (EP Launch) @ Black Bear Lodge, November 12th

We can’t go a month without some quirky indie rock. Youth Allowance will be launching their EP after the success of some of their recently released music. Supporting them on the night will be Sans Parents and Dinosaur Dreams. Price: $13

JOY. @ The Foundry, November 13th

There is absolutely no denying our love for JOY. Her newly found success has come at no surprise and an Australian tour seems the only way to celebrate it. JOY. Is the kind of girl who you see once and become an immediate fan: trust us, you won’t want to miss this. You can check out our glowing review of her EP Ode here. Price: $15

Danksgiving  @ The Brightside, November 19th

If the name doesn’t draw you in, then nothing will. Danksgiving is going to be a night full of fried chicken, trivia and live music, all at student friendly prices! The line-up for the night includes: Keta Beats, Wolver, Vulture Circus, Acid on Andy, Spacecowboy4005 and These Guy. Price: FREE

PEEZO @ The Foundry, November 21st

Celebrating the release of his debut Old School Futuristic 2, PEEZO is coming to the Foundry. The up and coming rapper will be supported by Gallu$, Gratis Minds and Leeze the Kid. Price: $13

Jungle Love Music & Arts Festival @ Imbil Queensland, November 27th-28th

Topping it off this month is Jungle Love. Jungle Love is set to be unforgettable this year, with much of the festival crowd funded there is certainly a strong sense of community for this one, not to mention the line-up! With over 60 bands, visual artists, workshops and boutique bars you can assure a jam packed couple of days. You can check out the artists here. Price: $130-$145
