Dune Rats join Foundry relaunch lineup
Local legends Dune Rats will headline the official relaunch party of Fortitude Valley venue The Foundry on 20th August. Joining Dunies on the lineup will be Sydney outfit Palms, as well as local acts Orphans Orphans and Major Leagues.
The relaunch comes after the announcement in March that technical issues would result in a forced hiatus from live shows. The venue is now back up and running and is set to become a hub of live music in Brisbane.
The Foundry team has also announced the opening of Foundry Records, Brisbane’s newest bar/cafe, record store and performance space. This new location will allow Brisbane music lovers to eat, buy records, and listen to some new tunes all in one place.
The relaunch party will span across two levels, with the aforementioned bands performing in the Live Room upstairs, and Foundry Records playing host to a surprise acoustic act to open the night.
The lineup for the first few weeks of The Foundry Live Room has also been announced, including Magic Bones, Airling and Little May . In addition to these gigs, The Foundry Team have announced a brand new club night on Thursdays called Yowie, as well as Strickly Speaking, the first and only regular live hip-hop night in Brisbane.
The relaunch party is just the beginning for the new look Foundry, which is set to be a hotspot for Brisbane’s music community.
